The High School Band and Percussion Ensemble Members are going on a trip to Chicago this May/June! I sent home a packet (link) with every high school student today. Here are a few highlights from the packet:

There are a total of 29 students who are eligible. Ever single member plays a vital role here! As always, please feel free to contact me if there are any questions you may have! These next two weeks are going to be big. We are putting a new show on the field in two games. Monday is Labor Day. This gives us 4 rehearsals to fully learn, clean, and memorize an entire show! Because of this, I asked that your section leaders schedule sectionals for when each group is free. Sectionals are not full band practice. They are called individually by each section leader and the times are flexible around other sport/activity schedules. They may not avoid *all* conflicts, but each section leader should make an effort to avoid most conflicts. I will try to be at the ones I can, but these "practice sessions" are run by the students. Each student should have the times of their sectionals from their section leader. In addition, here is the regular practice schedule: Monday - No practice Tuesday - Open for Sectionals Wednesday - 3:15-5:15 (learn drill for song 1, learn song 1) Thursday - Open for Sectionals Friday - 3:15 - Game (review show 1 for performance) Monday - 3:15-5:15 (review song 1, learn dance for song 3) Tuesday - Open for Sectionals Wednesday - 3:15-5:15 (review, teach drill for song 2) Thursday - Open for Sectionals Friday - 3:15-Game (clean show 2 for performance) Saturday - Oak Hill Band Show! 4:45 call It's going to be a rush to get this all under our belt these next two weeks, but we can do it! The crowd loved you Friday. Let's keep it up! NT P.S. If you cannot make a sectional, tell your section leader (i.e. not me) and they will work with you to figure out how you are going to get what you need done done. |
