Dear Band Parents and Families,
For this upcoming band season, the band is putting a spin on the dinners. Instead of continuing the Friday Night Pizza theme, we are having each instrument section provide dinner for that said football game. The schedule will be listed down below!
These dinners will allow our sections to bond and give each kid the chance to have input on what the band will eat for that night, an opportunity to create a new tradition for our marching band, and last but not least a change of pace.
Please do not worry that this is “one more thing.” The section leaders know this is their responsibility to coordinate and will not drop the ball.
The Schedule:
- Week 1 (8/24) - Clarinets
- Week 2 (8/31) - Lowbrass
- Week 3 (9/7) - Trumpets
- Week 4 (9/14) - Drumline
- Week 5 (9/21) - Flutes
- Week 6 (9/28) - Trumpets
- Week 7 (10/5) - Saxophones
- Week 8 (10/12) - Clarinets
- Week 9 (10/19) - Lowbrass
- Week 10 (10/26) - Seniors
What we need:
- Food* for 35 people (main dishes, sides, etc)
- Plastic tableware (plates, plasticware, cups, etc)
- People to help set up cafeteria and clean up
What will happen:
The week or two before your assigned game, your section leader will meet with the section to plan a menu and discuss what each family may be able to bring. The section leader will then type out a summary from their discussion and send it home with what each member has agreed to. Please talk with your student now about what may be possible to avoid an accidental overcommitment.
Allergies:
With anything food related, our band wants to accommodate everyone. Ohana means family and family means no one is left behind! In this case… no one is left unfed!
Here are the allergies we have so far:
- All nuts (tree nuts, peanuts, etc.)
- Beef
- Seafood
Thank you again,
Cole Thompson
