Marching Band starts a week from today! Before we get into things, I would like to offer a few reminders and update you on what we have been working on to keep everyone safe this season.
Things to bring to Marching Band:
- Mask
- Insulated Water Jug (32 oz or bigger) (example)
- Hat/sunglasses/sunscreen
- Close-toed shoes
- Instrument / music / pencil
We will not have access to public water fountins duing marching practice. You will NEED to bring your filled water bottle with you every day to band camp. Do not bring a 20 ounce disposable water bottle and think that will get you through the day. It is hot outside and 10 degreese hotter on the turf than in the air. You are going to need 32oz insulated bottle or bigger (I'm going with a 64 ouncer, myself).
I love my sandals too, but we need close-toed shoes for marching. Our practice field is not maintained beyond a lawn mower. Trash and stones sometimes end up in our field and the last thing I want is for something to go through the bottom of your foot and cause damage.
Our current safety plan is outlined here and will be updated as we learn new things.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your section leaders. If you don't know who your section leaders are, you can reach out to me and I will put you in contact with them!
See you soon!
