The final things as we close out the year.
School owned instruments
Need to be checked in on Monday to see if they are in good working order and to make sure we have all of the instruments accounted for. If you would like to check an instrument back out again for the summer, you can check it out again on the last day of school.
Kings Island
The KI trip for the 7th and 8th graders is this Saturday! Details for this are on an earlier blog post. If you are a high schooler looking to chaperone you need to let me know asap. Call time is 6:45 Saturday morning.
Graduation
All HS wind players and selected percussionists must attend graduation. Call time is 1:00pm. We will begin playing at 1:35. Dress is all black. Please be in the gym ready to play by 1:07. We would like to get a couple of spots rehearsed before show time.
HS Band Banquet
The HS Band Banquet is Tuesday May 22. All students coming are asked to bring a covered dish or dessert (feed 6-10). This is for all HS Wind and Percussion Ensemble members. (You get your OMEA State medal!) This is also when we can recognize our seniors. Please do your best to be in attendance. RSVP for the banquet here.
Memorial Day Parade
The 2017 (last year's) marching band will be playing at the Bainbridge Memorial Day Parade again this year. We are looking to have at least one practice before the parade to remember how to march. (We are leaning toward after school Wednesday May 23 but stay tuned.) Call time for the parade will be 1:30 at the Historical Society (FFL line up spot) in summer uniforms.
Beginning Band Camp (for rising 5th graders)
Starting the day after memorial day, we are starting our newest band members! This is an exciting time and welcome all who would like to help make these 2 weeks more special. Details on the 5th Grade Corner.
Ross County Summer Youth Band
Any current 5th - 7th grader (rising 6th - 8th grader) is welcome to attend Ross County's First Summer Youth Band! This band will meet once a week starting in July and will end with a performance at the Ross County Fair. This band will be made up of students from all Ross County Schools. The $20 fee will cover your T-shirt, admission to the fair (Saturday), and the music that we will be playing over the summer. Permission Slip here.
Marching Band 2018
If you have still not turned in a Marching Band Application, please get those in as soon as possible. Our first practice for the 2018 season will be July 23! (except drumline) All Marching Band dates can also be found on the band calendar.
