Perhaps our final weekly update for marching band! I think I may still post here weekly as it pertains to the other ensembles as I think it has become beneficial to sum up the next week's activities.
This week, I will be out of class Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for Leader in Me trainings and Symposium. I will be back in the evening Tuesday for the Marching Band Banquet, but each day student leadership will be leaned upon for a successful class. Remember that while our concert seems far away, this week is the only full week of school between then and now.
Marching Band Banquet Details:
This is this Tuesday (11/19) at 6:00pm at the Bainbridge United Methodist Church. The church is kitty corner from the rear entrance to the Paxton Theatre. The band banquet is organized by Austin Thompson and Cole Thompson. The marching band banquet is our time to celebrate the entire marching band season July-November. Awards will be given, stories will be shared, and food will be eaten. The banquet is potluck style. The Band Boosters will provide Fried Chicken and Table Service. Each grade brings a different dish:
- Seniors - Dessert
- Juniors - Hot Side Dish
- Sophomores - Hot Side Dish
- Freshmen - Cold Side Dish
- Junior High - Drinks/Bottled Water
Other Events this Week:
Interims end this Friday (11/22) for the second nine weeks.
This Friday (11/22), Ahneka will drive up to Capital University to audition for her chair placement in the Capital University Honor Band! Her concert will be Saturday evening at 5:00pm in Mees Hall at Capital University. (link for details) As a bonus, you can say hi to PV Band Alums at Capital University Noah Davis and Maddy Horsley who I am sure will be at the concert, too!
Also this Saturday (11/23) is Ohio State University's (and PV Band alumna Olivia Spradlin's) last Skull Session of the season. It starts at 9:40am, but Wes suggests leaving plenty of time for parking as the place is packed. If you are planning on heading up to the Capital University Honor Band, this may be a good opener for your day.
Last Blast Summary:
From our booster officers in attendance it looks like we had 130 people in attendance (up from 123 from last year). We made $1,040 from the gift basket raffle, $510 from the auction, and $605 in donations for a total of $2,155 from the event! I would like to congratulate one more time Allison, Carley, and Emma for organizing this event. I am incredibly proud of your initiative and drive.
As always, a complete calendar with all dates can be found on the band Google Calendar.
See you tomorrow!
