Amazing job on Friday. That is the best that I have heard or seen you perform that halftime show. You also did an amazing job on the spur-of-the-moment tunnel that we haven't performed or practiced in 10 months.
Finally, you did a good thing staying until the end. Everything saying "leave": the bad weather, the late start, the losing game. But you put that aside to support your peers in the activity they love. By doing that, you were also supporting the school and the community at large. By staying, you were living up to #OneSchool #OneFamily. I am proud of you for that.

Friday's Rehearsal (9/4)
This Friday, we will not have school. The current plan is to still have rehearsal starting at 3:15 lasting to the game. Please come in your summer uniform. If anything changes before Friday, we will let you know.
Mask Policy
All summer long and throughout our after school rehearsals, the band has been very good about following the state, school, and band mask policies. Going into week two, we need to refortify our resolve to these policies.
The band has always strived for excellence - in musicianship and behavior. Just because others are not holding the standard, does not mean that we cannot or should not. Let the band be a symbol of how every other group should be responding to the state mandate and responsible treatment of others. #OneFamiy
Friday Night Food
Here is a link to the schedule the team came up with for feeding the band Friday nights. For quick reference here is the schedule of Friday night food:
- Game 2: Drumline + Trumpets
- Game 3: Low Brass + Flutes/Clarinets
The saxophone parents did an amazing job of prepackaging everything this past week and even had extra pre-packaged food left over for third quarter. I am embarrassed to say that after they put in that work, I personally failed to hand out what was leftover for third quarter. I will work with the student leadership team to build in accountability to not let that happen for next week if prepackaged leftovers exist again.
Football Game Tickets
I should have wristbands again for game tickets this week. Mr. Ewry is working to maximize the number of spectators allowed by law into our stadium. I will keep you posted on any updates to this ticket number. Until anything changes, please plan on two tickets per band member.
If you or your student know you do not need both (or either) ticket, please let me know and we will pass that donated seat back on to a parent asking for an additional ticket.
Wii Tournament
The student leaders are planning another band bonding event in the upcoming weeks: a Wii Tournament! Details will be forthcoming. For now, all I can say is that the event is planned for the evening of September 11 (when we would have normally played a Football Game).
Community Show
On September 11, when we would normally would have a football game, we are looking to do a short practice/community show in downtown Bainbridge. The student leaders are hard at work getting approval from the appropriate city and school officials. We need to make sure that it is safe and possible with all regulations.
If this is to happen, we would ride over to Bainbridge in the same fashion we got used for Last Blast rehearsals (through a short car pool), and be dismissed from downtown Bainbridge no later than 5:30. (practice 3:30-4:30, show 4:45-5:15) Look for more details coming in the next week.
Oak Hill Band Show
Oak Hill Band Show is scheduled for September 19. Bryce Werntz, the director at Oak Hill, has been working hard to establish a plan to allow for the event to happen for his community. Bryce has been in constant e-mai communication with us, but few details have been released as of now. I will let you know when I know the details (tickets, performance time, etc.).
Adena and Unioto are also looking to attend the Oak Hill Band Show. Should something prohibit our performance at Oak Hill, our three schools are planning something of our own on that day so both parents and students will have the opportunity to see and support one another. Keep that day open!
