Community Show (9/11, 9/18)
On September 11, when we would normally would have a football game, we are looking to do a short practice/community show in downtown Bainbridge. The student leaders are hard at work getting approval from the appropriate city and school officials. We need to make sure that it is safe and possible with all regulations.
If this is to happen, we would ride over to Bainbridge in the same fashion we got used for Last Blast rehearsals (through a short car pool), and be dismissed from downtown Bainbridge no later than 5:30. (practice 3:30-4:30, show 4:45-5:15) Look for more details coming in the next week.
Wii Tournament (9/11)
The student leaders are planning another band bonding event in the upcoming weeks: a Wii Tournament! The event will be held after the community show this Friday (9/11) in the band room until 7:00pm. The student leaders are planning a bracket style tournament between multiple games, trophies, snack food, and music. Good times will be had by all.
Details can be found with the student leadership team.
Oak Hill Band Show (9/19)
The Oak Hill Band Show is on! Here are some of the key details:
- Call time Saturday is 4:30p
- We are up first @Oak Hill during the second block at 7:30p
- Masks are required of all band members and spectators when not physically playing or eating - bring your Bearcat Masks!
- I have two Bearcat Masks in the band room that were left on the floor.
- This requirement applies for people when distancing, too.
- It has been recommended for students to bring a lawn chair to be able to sit on the track to watch the other groups.
- Tickets
- Pre-sale $5, no tickets at gate
- PV has 50 seats blocked out for our band.
- Any tickets left over from any band on 9/16 will be open for anyone to purchase.
- To purchase tickets:
- Follow this link
- Click "buy tickets" and find PV Band
- Use the code "paintvalleyband202"
- Each cart can only hold 2 tickets at a time. While I don't think we will be bringing 50 parents to Jackson, please limit to buying 2 tickets until this Friday. After Friday, go ahead and purchase as many as you like.
For more information on the Oak Hill event, please see my previous post on the topic.
Senior Night (9/25)
Seniors, if she hasn't already, Mrs. Brill should be sending out a survey for you to fill out to create the script for Senior Night. Details for parents will be out when I have them.
Friday Night Food
Here is a link to the schedule the team came up with for feeding the band Friday nights. For quick reference here is the schedule of Friday night food:
- Game 3: Low Brass + Flutes/Clarinets
Thank you to the parents who were able to come to help out with this. Special thank you to Amy Johnson and Mindi Campbell who have kept me honest about third quarter. Our next game isn't for another two weeks!
Football Game Tickets
This past week we were afforded 2 tickets for each band member and an additional two tickets for every upperclassman (juniors + seniors). This past Friday, we had enough "extra" tickets returned that every student who asked for additional tickets got what they asked for! Thank you, band, for this collaborate effort.
We'll shoot for using the same plan for Senior Night (9/25). Priority, of course, will go for seniors playing in their last home game.
Ross County Marching Festival (10/4)
RCMF is on for Sunday, October 4! The Ross County Band Directors Association is meeting once more before this date to go over further details. I will give another update after that meeting. Two things I do know now:
- There will be limited spectators.
- A mask mandate for all people in the stadium (performers and spectators) who are not physically playing or eating - even if distanced.

See you soon!
